Twenty Questions with Becca Haeger

Welcome To Twenty Questions!

Every week I’ll be sharing a new twenty-something on the blog and their responses to twenty quick-fire, intimate questions about themselves. No one featured on Twenty Questions is a celebrity or public figure, and most of these people I don’t know very well, or at all. My hope is that by taking a peak into someone else’s soul you will realise that, despite our fundamental differences, we still have very similar insecurities, make similar mistakes and have fought similar battles to become the people we are today.

Becca Haeger, 22

What is your full name?

Rebecca Kelly Haeger. I don’t remember the last time called me Rebecca though, I probably wouldn’t even respond.

How old are you?

How old do you feel?

I think I feel younger than my age, my friends would probably agree. About 20.

Where were you born, and where do you live now?

Auckland for both!

What do you do for work?

I work part time at black Box Boutique and sometimes model.

What do you do for fun?

I love crystals, there’s something really interesting about them so I have a bit of a collection going. Anything to do with food, including making my boyfriend watch Master Chef with me and trying to copy their meals. Playing with my dog is pretty fun too, she’s really cute.

Did you go to university? If so, what did you study? If not, why?

I’ve been to three different universities because I can’t make my mind up about anything. I’ve studied psychology and business at Victoria, graphic design at Massey, and this year I moved back to Auckland to finish my design degree at AUT (finally!).

What is your favourite movie of all time?

Breakfast at Tiffanys! I have a huge painting of Audrey Hepburn in my room at home.

What is the biggest risk you have ever taken that has paid off?

Moving to a city I’d never been to before because I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. Being away from my friends and family for four years sucked but I learned how to be independent, met heaps of new people and eventually found what I really wanted to do!

Hardest moment of your twenties so far?

Losing my mum this year. She was the most influential person in my life and all I want to do is make her proud.

Best moment of your twenties so far?

Living with my friends and our flat bunny.

  Who do you miss?

My best friend.

What do you like the most about yourself?

I like that I care about others so much. And that I can laugh at myself.

What do you like the least about yourself?

That I worry about everything too much, and my fear of talking on the phone!

If you had to get a tattoo, what would you get and where would you get it? If you already have tattoos, which is your favourite and why?

I got a tattoo on my birthday a few years ago but it’s a secret…

How would your friends describe you?

I asked a friend to answer this and she said I was affectionate, crack up, genuine and have a big heart, “You always appear well put together and to me you are effortlessly cool. BUT, in saying that, in person I think you are always very flustered.”

How would your parents describe you?

Fussy, caring, overthinking. Always stressing and always hungry.

When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday when a taxi driver yelled at me because I kind of hit his car.

  What are you afraid of?

Accidentally eating something non-vegan lol.

If you could start your twenties again, what would you do differently?

Spend more time with my favourite people and take my dog for more walks, because those things make me happy.
